Первая часть данной книги была посвящена теоретическому конструированию понятия личностного потенциала как описывающего некоторую целостность. Содержанием второй части, напротив, служил анализ конкретных психологических переменных, рассматриваемых как его составляющие. Небольшая третья часть предваряет изложение оригинальных исследований авторов данной книги (часть 4) и служит своеобразным «интерфейсом» к ней. В этой части рассматриваются методологические проблемы исследования личностного потенциала, как общего плана (в данной главе), так и более специальные, касающиеся математического аппарата и проблемы социальной желательности данных (в последующих главах).
